Challenge to Eat Right - INTRODUCTION

I am starting this blog to share my journey in my attempt to eat completely right.  I will be sharing what I learn about organic foods, whole foods and eating healthy in general.  My initial challenge to myself is set for a 60 day period.  Why 60 days... Well, I figure 30 is too short, and in all honesty 90 might be too long.  I hope I will be able to make it a way of life.  But it will be very hard, so for now I am committing to a full 60 day period.  I  will start on Monday, April 9th. My main intention for this blog is to keep myself 100% accountable... and absolutely no cheating!!!  If I cheat, I will be honest and admit all of my struggles or pitfalls.  I know this will be so so so very difficult.  I do love food and I admit I do have weaknesses for some junk... and I have an obsession with sushi and all of the fancy rolls which I will have to give up for now.  I will have NO FAST FOOD, NO JUNK FOOD and likely will not be able to eat out at all!  So, unless I can find a health food restaurant of some kind, everything I put into my mouth will be prepared at home.  I will know every ingredient that goes into my meals and I will do my best to eliminate any and all chemical additives from going into my body.

I will be eating whole foods and organic foods whenever possible... while trying to detox my body, hopefully drop a few pounds and see how good I can feel by choosing to eat right at all times.  I am hoping it will be an amazing journey and become a way of life for both myself and my husband.  Right now I am the one fully committing myself to do this.  I do hope to get him on board by Monday!!!  April 9th is my start date...

Please wish me luck!

    1. I would love it if you would!!! Obviously on vacation you have to just do you best to make wise choices. I would say eat lots of veggies (tell them no oil or butter during preparation, steamed or grilled), then go with fresh fruit and salads... and for dressing probably just a little vinaigrette. For protein, maybe asked for skinless chicken breast (grilled or boiled, no sauces only herb seasonings and then you can put a dash of salt and/or pepper on at the table). Most restaurants will accommodate you unless you are at a fast food place. Make sure to read my other post on the list of ingredients to avoid and why...
